Welcome to the Local Discount Cards website

We’re working on putting the finishing touches on our site, and because we are out promoting and people have been asking, I’ll keep you in the loop by continually updating this basic page while the professionals work on the real deal behind the scenes!

So, here’s what Local Discount Cards is all about: For starters, we aim to innovate the fundraising process for youth and non-profit organizations. Secondly, we provide free advertising through our Merchant Directory program for local, independently owned businesses. These two services are what we provide at our most basic level, it’s when you get a little deeper that makes us really excited...

LDC evolved from a simple, yet somewhat meaningless concept for providing fundraising through community discount / value cards. Here is how it works: An organization, Emma’s Bulldog Buddies, needs to raise money and awareness for their puppy picnic event,  so they hire a fundraising company - who we’ll call them Behind the Times Fundraiser - to help them out. Behind the Times sells Emma about 1,000 value cards with community discounts from companies like Subway, McDonalds, Jiffy Lube, and the like for about $4,000, or $4 a card. Emma and her friends then work on selling the cards, making a 60% profit. The process was simple, both companies made a fair profit, but we’re interested in providing a much better, more valuable solution, which is one of the things our new website will help accomplish.

For fundraising, we are developing tools that will help groups of any size plan, execute, and manage their fundraising campaign. We are also working on solutions that will benefit the communities and small businesses, rather than just the fundraising group. We have other, non fundraising products still in development that will be released with the launch of our new website.
